Trust Me, I’m a Lawyer

*Jan 10 - 00:05*01_Email DeskWith guys like Paul Bergrin in the profession is it any wonder why the public ranks lawyers just above used car salesmen in a ranking of ethical professionals?

Business Insider has a slideshow of the year’s 10 most infamous lawyers and Mr. Bergrin is numero uno:

He was a well-known New Jersey criminal defense attorney and a former federal prosecutor, but he is now on the other side of the law.

Federal prosecutors say Paul Bergrin had a witness killed in a drug case, hired a hit man to kill another, and used a Newark restaurant as front for a cocaine ring. He was arrested in May and indicted in Newark in November, charged with conspiracy and murder.

Bergrin’s tough tactics are legendary. “No witness, no case,” he reportedly said.

Didn’t Dante reserve the ninth circle of hell for people like this?
