Joe Kristan tells us what he thinks of Congress’ planned extension of the new homebuyer tax credit.
He no likey and here’s why:
It’s nice to know that a majority of the millionaires in the Senate think it’s wise to spend $40,000 to $80,000 of our money for each new home sale caused by the credit, even though the credit is rife with fraud.
I understand that Congress is trying to jump start the housing market, but wasn’t it part of the problem in the first place that we pushed people into buying homes who shouldn’t have bought homes?
Home ownership isn’t for everybody, despite what the social egalitarians tell you.
There is nothing inherently shameful in renting. I did it for the first 18 years of my adult life and had a blast.
